INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION

Grace Adoptions currently conducts adoption home studies, home study updates, and provides post-placement supervision for many people who adopt internationally through other agencies that do not have offices in Arkansas.

We traveled to Guatemala in mid-January 2003 and established a relationship with an agency that is very effective in that country: Children of the World of St. Louis, Missouri. For Arkansas residents, we will assist you in becoming paper-ready for Guatemala when adopting through Children of the World.

We conduct a Russian adoption program for Arkansas residents in partnership with Global Adoption Services, an agency with offices in Montana and Wyoming. The staff of Global Adoptions has the same values and ethical standards as Grace Adoptions and have a well-developed, Russian program that is in the process of re-accreditation. Having dependable people in place in other countries is critical to the effectiveness of any international program. We at Grace also feel that we must first visit these countries to directly experience the systems our clients will be interacting with: travel, housing, food, people, and government.

Grace is monitoring the development of the Hague Adoption Standards that international adoption agencies will need to comply with when Standards are formally approved and implemented.
